Prairie Lights

At the lake near us they do an exhibit every year at Christmastime. It's two miles of Christmas lights, and an area with a tent full of the inflatable Christmas decorations. We drove through and the boys loved it! Santa was in the tent and for the first time in three years we had a fairly decent experience with the man in red. Blake told him that he wanted Thomas, Thomas, and more Thomas. Cody refused to speak to him, but at least we got a decent family picture!!

Holiday in the Park

Last night we went to Holiday in the Park at Six Flags. I had never been before and it was really neat. It was cold (in the low 40s), but we had lots of fun. The boys rode 4 or 5 things, and Shawn and I rode one roller coaster. (We went with the boys' babysitter and her family). There was a big parade at the end, but the boys were passed out for that. Oh well. The videos are of the boys and Emily (Shawn's daughter--she's 2 weeks older than Cody and Blake) on the teacups, and then Tadd and Cody going down the snow hill! They are the second sled you see go down.

Let it snow!!

This past Thursday we had a very very cold front come in and we got some snow!! I know it isn't much, but it was a lot for us!! The boys loved it, especially Cody. Blake kept wanting to go back inside where it was warm (smart boy). We're going to Holiday in the Park tonight at Six Flags so I'll have pics of that soon!
Here's a video of Cody having a "snowball" fight with Hannah (Shawn, our daycare provider's, daughter). It's really pixelated, but you can kinda see how hard it's coming down! Click

Happy Turkey Day!

Sorry I haven't posted since Halloween! Things are busy as usual. Ryan and Brandie came down with Cecelia the Sunday before Thanksgiving, then we drove to Houston Wednesday. We had a great time hanging out with them. Cecelia is gorgeous and I got lots and lots of baby lovin' in.

The video is the boys and Ryan in Dad's hot tub/pool (it was heated). Ryan in all his glory, teaching the boys to be silly.

Happy Halloween!!

We had a great time tonight trick or treating. The boys remembered what it was all about after the first house, and they took to it like champs! They got lots of candy, then had fun passing out candy to all the other kids. Seems like Cody is back to being a camera hog, as he's more than willing to say cheese for me all the time now! Also I posted pics of the two pumpkins I carved. Pretty good huh? The one is BU with a bear claw, if you can't tell!!

Pumpkin patch!!

We went to the pumpkin patch in Flower Mound yesterday. It was really neat!! Super big, with bounce houses, pony rides, and tons of pumpkins! It was really crowded though, so I think we'll be going on a weekday next year. They had a hay maze and lots of wooden cutouts for the boys to pose with. And of course, tractors!! The little guys had a great time. We'll post pics of our pumpkins soon!!

We're "fwee"!!

The boys celebrated their 3rd birthday on Friday, and we had a very busy weekend!! Their birthday theme was Thomas the Train, and I can safely say that we certainly must own a part of the Thomas franchise now. We celebrated Friday night with pudding and practiced blowing out the candles. See Blake learning how to blow here! Watch video.
On Saturday we had our party with all our family and friends. The boys had a blast playing and opening presents. Needless to say they were exhausted today and are already asleep at 7:30. Mimi went home today and Aunt Jessica and Uncle BJ are here for the rest of the week. The boys will be ridiculously spoiled before this is all over.
Here is a video of everyone singing Happy Birthday at their party. Watch video
I'll post some pics of our trip to the zoo earlier in the week soon. And I'm hoping to get to a pumpkin patch this week, so check back for those also! Thanks to everyone who came to their party! It was fun!

Finger painting!!

I apologize for the lack of pictures lately! For whatever reason I haven't been able to upload to blogger lately, so I have to figure out other ways to post.
The boys will be THREE this coming Friday. I can't believe it. We'll be having lots of family and friends over to celebrate, so I'll have a lot of pictures to share!

Here's Mommy's latest brave adventure! They loved it, and weren't really too messy at all! Washable, of course!!

A few pics and a video.

Just thought I'd post some pictures and a little video. Click here to see it. A few pics from the park today and one of Cody with a hairless Daddy!! It's hard to believe that their 3rd birthday is a month from tomorrow!!! How is it possible? Even worse, I'll be 30 in 3 weeks!!! Things are good. We're looking forward to the holidays. The boys will be Buzz and Woody from Toy Story this year. Their birthday party will be Thomas the Train...their newest obsession. Still working on the potty training...slow and steady wins the race, right?

A couple of pics since it's been a while

Nothing much new to report. We're treading along with the potty training. Tee-tee'ing is going well, but we've hit a wall with the poop. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! The pic of the boys in their tshirts are them modeling their shirts from Nandy and Papaw. They were very proud to be wearing them. The others are a few from Labor Day weekend at the lake. Blake hanging out with the guys, watching football on the dock.

Weekend trip to Houston

We went to Houston this weekend to visit Grandma and Grandpa (my dad and his wife). We had a really good time! Spent lots of time in Grandpa's pool, which just made me want one even more. Surprisingly, Cody was the daredevil. For whatever reason, he's brave when it comes to water, and Blake is the tentative one. Blake spent most of the weekend "relaxing" in the hot tub with Grandma, while Cody practiced jumping off the side and swimming!! He's such a little water baby! He is doing really well at kicking, and is starting to coordinate moving his arms in the water too! I'm including a link of him "swimming" at the bottom of this post.
Cody can swim!!
