Just a few pics...

Nothing new to update really...but I know it's been a while since I've added some new pics, and I hate to deprive the waiting public, so here's a few from the other day. I was able to briefly get them to actually sit next to each other for a pic. Now of course, that doesn't guarantee smiles, but at least I have them together!!

busy summer days!

We've been on the go since we got back from Florida. Things are going great. The boys started their new day care on June 5. It's a home day care, and it's just down the road from us. So far it has been absolutely fantastic. Shawn is wonderful. She's just quit working as a CPA to stay home with her kids, and is watching a few others to help bring in some money. Cody and Blake are 2 of 6 kids now, instead of 2 of 20+, and they absolutely LOVE going now. They ask to go to Shawn's house on my days off!! It's definitely been a blessing.
This past week we started hard core serious potty training!! Cody has really resisted (I'm scared, I can't, etc) so I'm going to lay off him a bit and try again in about a week. Blake has done fantastic! We're on day four, and he's not telling us when he has to go yet, but if we ask, he'll go sit on the potty and go! Only one accident in the past 2 days. He hasn't started pooping on the potty yet, but we'll get there! One day at a time, right?
Sorry no pics this time, but I'm including a video below of a "typical" evening at home!
Happy Father's Day!!

See us play!

Our Florida Trip!

We went to Perdido Key, Florida this past week to visit Uncle Ryan and Aunt Brandie, and our new cousin Cecelia, Mimi, Aunt Jessica and Uncle BJ, and all of Aunt Bran's family. Once again the Wallace's put up with the "Hunter" clan for almost a week, and we had a blast!
The boys LOVED the beach!!! They wouldn't go near the waves, but had a great time in the little tidal pool I found, and playing in the sand. Blake had a grand time driving Mr Bill's boat, and they even got to go kayaking with Daddy and Uncle Ryan. Mommy got some much needed R&R on the beach, and we all had a fantastic time.
More pics to follow below!!

Eureka! I think we've turned a corner...

I hesitate to even post this, and I fear I'm jinxing myself, so please knock on any wood you have nearby as you read! The past 5 days, the boys have slept "late" (ie, past 6:15 am!). A few days we've gone to 6:45, and today it was 7:30!!!! I don't know what it is, but I'm not complaining! We thought the first 2 days they were still recuperating from Six Flags, but I don't think it takes a week to recup! Praise the Lord, they've discovered the joy of sleep!!!

More six flags pics!

First trip to Six Flags!!

We took the boys to Six Flags this past weekend with their Aunt Trish and Jordan and Kylee. We were a little nervous to see how they'd do, but they did great!!! We got there at 11 am and left at 6 pm!! Such little troopers!! They got to ride 2 choo choo trains, some swings, hot air balloons, airplanes, big trucks, the yosemite sam boat ride and the log ride!! We'll probably be getting season passes now, because they're free until they're three!! Lots of pics, so I'll continue them in a new post!

Croup is no fun.

Poor Cody has the croup. It's awful! I don't recommend it to anyone, poor guy. We're on day 4 now, so hopefully it will get better soon, but the poor baby is just coughing and coughing. No one is getting much sleep, and I know he just feels terrible. It is so hard to see your baby sick and not be able to fix him! Blake has a mild version of it. Apparently, you can be exposed to it and not actually get croup, but a cold instead. That's what Blake has...just a regular cough.

On another note, we have decided to pull them out of their current day care and place them in a home day care we found. The lady that will be watching them is quitting her job at the end of May and starting her own child care. She will be watching 7 kids total...her two, the boys, and the 3 other kids that are all neighborhood friends of theirs. We feel very comfortable with her and feel this is going to be a good move. They'll be starting with her on June 5. We'll keep you updated!

Mimi's visit

Mimi (my mom) visited this past week. Surprisingly we didn't take many pics. We were busy redecorating and teaching me to cook! :) Here's some from our trip to the pool. It was super windy and overcast, so kinda cold, but we had a good time anyways! I'm ready for lake weather!

The Easter Bunny and Chuckie Cheese

We traveled to Waco for Easter weekend to celebrate with the family. Easter Sunday was also the boys' cousin Collin's 3rd birthday, so we got to hang out at Chuckie Cheese too! The guys always have so much fun with their cousins. Cody was hesitant to get on any rides until the very very end, but Blake was riding the whole time!! They watched Chuckie from a safe distance, but seemed quite interested in him, and of course, enjoyed their CAKE!!
On Easter a bunch of family came over and we ate a bunch then had our Easter egg hunt. We had been practicing in our backyard and the boys did great!!! They got lots of eggs and had a good time. Cody busted into his for his candy right away to no surprise!! And there have been several times since then when he has literally been caught with his hand in the cookie jar. I've seen him sneak off to another room a few times very quietly, where he enjoys his chocolate egg or whatever candy he managed to snag. Unfortunately for him, there is usually quite a bit of evidence left on his face!!!
My mom is in town this week, and we're going to the zoo tomorrow, so I'll be posting some more pictures soon!!

Dora's Pirate Adventure!

Nandy (Tadd's mom) and I took Cody and Blake to see Dora's Pirate Adventure yesterday. It was their first live show, and they seemed to really enjoy it!!! They watched the whole thing very intently, occasionally "talking" to the characters, and they've talked about it a lot since we left. They LOVE Diego and Boots, so I'm sure it was a huge thrill to see them in person! I had to take the pics in cognito as there were no cameras allowed, so no pics of the boys. The one of Cody is before the show, with his flag they waved all during the performance!!

Are the terrible two's an excuse?

Greatest apologies everyone!! I know I'm LONG overdue for an entry. Can I blame it on the terrible twos?
Let's see...what's new?....
Well, about 2 weeks ago, the boys graduated to the "big boy" class at school (ie the 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 year old class). They transitioned with absolutely no problem, and their teachers say they are doing wonderfully. She sent home pictures last week of Cody doing a puzzle which she said is "usually hard" for 2 year olds to do! Our smart boy!!! This class is also the main potty training class (Lord bless that teacher), so we now bring pull-ups to school instead of diapers. Tadd and I talked the other day and decided we have to start really pushing the potty training. It's so time consuming but it will be so worth it in the end!! Blake is very close. He will tee-tee on the potty, and tries really hard to please us. I think with him it's just a matter of practice. Cody on the other hand....not too interested!! He's not too happy when we set him on the potty (understatement), so we need to work on becoming "friends" with the potty, and maybe find some incentives he'll work for.
Both of them still continue to amaze us daily with their vocabulary. They can both fairly accurately sing their ABC's (see video below), and they love to sing Twinkle Twinkle and the Itsy Bitsy spider. We're working on colors (Cody thinks everything is "green") and we're counting to ten! Cody mimics our phrases moreso than Blake, so we imagine he'll be the first to embarass us with an "adult" phrase somewhere in public.
That's enough for now! Don't want to overload ya! And I know what you really want are pictures!! Here's a video of Blake singing his ABC's ... and discovering his image in the faucet. The boys are just a little camera shy, so pics are hard to come by, but I'll share what I can get.
And I promise to update again SOON!!!

Our next American idol
The audio of off on the video for some reason...I'm working on that!

Beauty shop

Yesterday I caught the boys in the backyard playing with rainwater. Were they splashing? No. Drinking it? Nope. They were doing their hair. So silly!
Watch it here

And here are some pics of their brand new cousin Cecelia!! Born Feb 25, at 12:48 pm. She weighed 7lbs 3 oz, and is 20 inches! Mom, Dad and Baby are all fantastic!!

Roller skating!

Woohoo! My first post. This past weekend was Morgan and Taylor's birthday party. It was a skating party, and to my total surprise, the boys didn't flip out when I put them on skates!!! They were so cute, and I will definitely be buying some little skates on my next trip to Target!!

And here's a video of Blake skating! CLICK
