Merry Christmas!

The inital Santa discovery!

Blakey playing with "big wheel little wheel"

This was the first year the boys really "got" Santa and I think it was more fun for Tadd and I than them. We came home from Waco Christmas Eve and got ready for Santa's arrival. After an hour or so of construction all the toys were ready and Tadd and I got to bed. Cody was up at about 6:30 and we went and got Blakey up. The immediate hit was the Geo Trax set or the "train with a light on it" that Santa brought Cody. Once Blake noticed it, he was VERY excited about his "big wheel little wheel". We opened all our presents, then headed to town to buy our very first "family" Christmas dinner. It was a great day overall. The boys were so happy with all their presents, and we had a great day with just the four of us. The boys kept asking that evening if Santa was coming back tonight.

Christmas Eve

We spend Christmas Eve Eve and Christmas Eve in Waco this year with Tadd's family. The boys as usual had a wonderful time playing with their favorite cousin Collin. Tadd was dismayed to find out we were not having a traditional turkey dinner, but he ultimately got over it. He still got his chocolate pie ;)... We opened presents with the family Monday afternoon and had a wonderful time with everyone. Then Christmas Eve night we headed home so we could be there for Santa's arrival!!

Visit with Santa

The boys are pumped about Christmas this year, and were very excited to go visit Santa at the mall. Cody initially said he would just stand by Santa, but after he talked to him for a minute, he climbed on next to his brother. I believe Cody asked for a race car, and Blake asked for "big wheel little wheel" (which is really a hovercraft like thing that has a big wheel, and... you guessed it, a little wheel). Christmas is really fun this year, because they really get the whole Santa thing.

Thanksgiving vacation

Better late than never kids! We traveled to Mississippi this year for Turkey Day. 10 1/2 hours...by car. The boys actually did really well considering how long the car ride was. We left really early on the way there and back, so that helped. We had a really good visit. We were able to visit with lots of family I hadn't seen in a long time, including the most precious Cecelia (my brother's little girl).
We managed to get a few pics of all the kids together...no promises that they'd all be looking at the camera. And one of Cody practicing for American Idol.
I'll add some more pics tomorrow..promise!

Baylor Homecoming 2007

We went back to Waco for Baylor's Homecoming this past weekend. I was really excited because, believe it or not, I never attended a Homecoming parade or bonfire while at Baylor. And since then, the boys' birthday has usually coincided with Homecoming, or we just had something else to do. It was nice to get back there, even though I didn't have time to roam around campus. The parade was really neat...the boys enjoyed seeing all the floats and Cody had fun collecting candy! We went to the game with Troy and Adam and tailgated for a while before. Baylor lost, of course, but it was still a good time! Sic' em bears!!

Pumpkin patch

I took the boys back to the pumpkin patch we visited last year to play and pick out pumpkins. They loved running in the field and posing with all their favorite characters. (Yes, they love Barney, much to my dismay.) Blakey had a small accident right after we got there, but he didn't seem to care so I just let it go. They had lots of fun and picked out two small pumpkins for Halloween!!

Happy Halloween!!

We had a very scary Halloween with our Storm Trooper and Darth Vader (or Dark Mater according to Blake). The boys really understood Halloween and the whole trick or treat concept this year, and they were excited for several days about going trick or treating! We went out with some neighbors (aka Elvis), and scored lots of candy!!

Walking with Dinosaurs

We took the boys to see Walking with Dinosaurs today at the American Airlines Center. It was absolutely incredible. The dinosaurs were life size, as you can see in the picture with the man int it (that was a "baby" dino). The video gives you an idea of how awesome it was, but even it doesn't really give justice to how real and loud it was. The boys loved it. Cody got a little scared at the end with the T-rex but I can't blame him!! If this comes to a city near you, I highly recommend it...even if you don't have kids!

Happy 4th birthday!!

The boys had their 4th birthday party at Pump it up, which is a big gym with about 6 different huge bounce houses. Everyone had a great time, including all the mommies and daddies (and Nandy!). The boys made out like bandits with all their presents as usual. Thanks to everyone who came! The pics on the slides are blurry, but you get the idea! And in case you can't tell, their cake is a rocket (from Little Einsteins).

Baking a cake

The boys helped me bake their birthday cake yesterday. They enjoyed pouring the ingredients and stirring, and of course, tasting. I think Blake thought it was yogurt, and ate it up!
