Young Chef's Academy

I took the boys to the Young Chef's Academy a few weeks ago.  I found a great deal on groupon.  If you haven't looked at the site, check it out.  I've gotten some awesome deals on it . 
There were only 3 kids in their class and they made pizza subs and meatball cookies.  The boys had a really good time and they redid the recipes with Mimi the following weekend.

Port Aransas!!

We took a trip to Port Aransas over Labor Day weekend with Tadd's family.  We rented a house on the beach with Troy, Jennifer, Morgan, Taylor, and Collin, Trish, Jordan, Kylee and Addyson, and Nandy and Papaw.  It was a full house but the house was big and spacious and we had lots of space.  We arrived Friday afternoon and left early Monday.  We had rain off and on, but had lots of sun time too.  The kids had an absolute wonderful time at the beach, and the adults had a great time too.

We'd been teasing the boys about earning their keep at the house so when Tadd went out to mow they decided they wanted to try.  They actually hung longer than I thought they would!  It was so hot though and that mower is just too big for them.  Few more years....

First day of first grade!!!

I can't believe my babies are in the first grade already!!  They were very very excited to be starting school again.  (So was I!!)  Their teachers seem great and they both each have several friends in their classes.  We're looking forward to another great year of school!!!

Lake Weekend

We met my BFF from high school, Erica, and her family out at the lakehouse for a weekend.  It was super super hot but we managed to stay relatively cool and had a really good time.  Her son is a little under two, and the boys enjoyed taking care of him (so to speak).  They did some fishing and lots of golf cart riding.  The adults enjoyed some cool lemonades on the back porch.  ;)

The Greatest Show on Earth! (um...not really)

My friend Lauren had tickets to the circus she ended up not needing so I decided to take the boys.  They weren't overly excited about going.  They kept saying it was "boring" although I don't really think they even knew where we were going.  All in all we had a good time.  They liked seeing the elephants and the big tricks by the acrobats.  And they love their $20 swords (ridiculous, but how do you say no??)
