Camo Crazy Field Day

This years' field day them was Camo Crazy.  It was great weather (although a bit windy...go figure), and we all had a really good time.
Blake and his buddy Gavin
Cody doing the army crawl
Blake waiting his turn for the bouncers

Cody waiting his turn.  They were supposed to avoid the "mines" (dots on the ground).  It was entertaining watching them bounce!  It's harder than it looks!

Digging for treasure
Aww!  My bubs!!
And of course the silly picture.

Tug of war!!  The highlight of field day!!!

Happy Easter!!

After checking out our baskets at home and doing a little home egg hunting, we headed to Waco for Easter lunch with Tadd's family.  We were glad to have my mom go with us and enjoyed the afternoon with the family!!

My handsome Easter boys

Driving around in Papaw's golf cart
And better late than never...dying Easter eggs.  So, we didn't get it done before Easter...big deal.  The fun is all in the dying right??

Mud Run!!

A few of my sorority sisters and I did the Mud Run in April.  For those that don't know, it's a 10K military style obstacle course...in the mud.  I did it 2 years ago with my friend Shannon, and let me tell you, as it's gained popularity, it's gotten harder!!!!
Unfortunately, we only made it to the 5k mark, because on the cargo nets in the picture below, our comrade Jen fell from about halfway up and had to be taken via ambulance to the hospital.  She is doing fine now, but her back was hurting pretty bad after her fall.  Definitely makes you realize that while this is a fun event, you can't play around!!!  There were a LOT of people in the ER from Mud Run!!
Still so fresh and clean...
Can you tell the water was a wee bit chilly?
I brought 2 waterproof cameras to try and get some pics along the way.  I love how this one came out...if only it were a bit less muddy!!

Cody's surgery

For anyone that didn't know, Cody had to have a heart procedure in early April.  Long story short, he was diagnosed with a fairly common heart arrhythmia called supraventricular tachycardia and had to have a cardiac catheter ablation done.  While terrifying for us (and especially me, as we didn't have a true diagnosis on paper and were going off only MY observations and clinical assessments) Cody went through it like a champ.  They were able to identify and ablate the area causing the problem almost immediately.  He was in surgery for approximately 4 hours and in recovery about 2 hours after that.  He's so swollen in the picture below and he was VERY out of it.  For obvious reasons, he had to be in very deep sedation so he got a ton of meds.

He ended up with 3 insertion sites; one on each groin than one to his right neck.  He had some minor bruising to his groin afterwards, but now you can't even tell!  It's amazing what modern medicine can do.  Our doctor was fantastic.
This sweet boy was ready to go home!!!  Hopefully this is the last we'll see of Cook Children's!!  As wonderful as they are, I don't want to spend any more nights here!!

I have lots of posts to catch up on, but wanted to post their last day of 1st grade pictures!!!

Last day as first graders.  I can't believe it.  They are growing WAY too fast!!!

And for comparison...first day of first grade...

Cody on the last day

If anyone finds a magic potion to make them stop growing, please send it to me!!!

Spring Break

Ryan, Brandie, and the kiddos came to visit for Spring Break.  We miss being close to them and love any chance to get together.  The kids all get along really well, and we'll be happy to welcome Hunter #3 this fall!!
Cecelia and Cody playing the wii.  C has loved the wii so much any time we've played with her and she got one for her birthday.
Little monkey Wallace climbing Ryan
Sweetness.  Cody and Wallace love each other so much.  They really do look so much like brothers too.  Maybe more even than Cody and Blake!!
Playing at the park at the boys' elementary school

I found these cute puppet kits at Walmart for 5 bucks and they were a hit!!  Plus the pieces are velcro so it's repeatable fun!!!

Cecelia's birthday was about 2 weeks before they visited, and since we never get to spend birthdays with them, we had a belated birthday party!  Plus it gave me an excuse to have an all pink birthday party!!!

Fishing with Ryan and Tadd...we have a little pond at the end of our street that streams from the lake and the boys have started going down there to fish a lot!
