Cody's surgery

For anyone that didn't know, Cody had to have a heart procedure in early April.  Long story short, he was diagnosed with a fairly common heart arrhythmia called supraventricular tachycardia and had to have a cardiac catheter ablation done.  While terrifying for us (and especially me, as we didn't have a true diagnosis on paper and were going off only MY observations and clinical assessments) Cody went through it like a champ.  They were able to identify and ablate the area causing the problem almost immediately.  He was in surgery for approximately 4 hours and in recovery about 2 hours after that.  He's so swollen in the picture below and he was VERY out of it.  For obvious reasons, he had to be in very deep sedation so he got a ton of meds.

He ended up with 3 insertion sites; one on each groin than one to his right neck.  He had some minor bruising to his groin afterwards, but now you can't even tell!  It's amazing what modern medicine can do.  Our doctor was fantastic.
This sweet boy was ready to go home!!!  Hopefully this is the last we'll see of Cook Children's!!  As wonderful as they are, I don't want to spend any more nights here!!
